Having been invited to carry out a book signing session of my new book 'Brighouse at Work'. I had wonderful time meeting and chating with lots of visitors.
This photograph dates back to 1986 and was taken on what appears to be a rather quiet day for December which is traditionally the busiest time for post offices.
From a small hamlet and a bridge, the town of Brighouse in Calderdale grew rapidly with the building of the Calder and Hebble Navigation in the late eighteenth century, which led to the development of the town’s successful textiles industries.
