Hi! My name is Chris Helme, for 30 years I was a Police Constable in the West Yorkshire Constabulary. For almost 26 years of my service I was working in and around my home town of Brighouse.
I have written, given countless presentations and held exhibitions about the history of Brighouse for almost 40 years.
Since I retired from the police service in 2001 I have been commissioned to write two books about Brighouse and the Sunny Vale Pleasure Gardens, the West Riding’s Alton Towers of the 19th century. I have just completed a third commissioned book ‘What Brass Bands Did For Me’ which is available now. This is a nostalgia book which will appeal to all those, who have been in, and around the brass band scene either as a player or a spectator. This is a must have book for all those whole like nostalgia and the world of brass bands.
Check out my speaking engagements, particularly my mobile phone classes for the older user.
Don’t dash off, have a look round first, and then tell your friends you have found me.
